“We are thrilled to team up with our friends at McLaren Health Care and Meijer to host next week’s vaccination pop-up at the Fox Theatre,” Chris Granger, Group President, Sports & Entertainment, Ilitch Holdings, Inc., said. “While many in our community have already been vaccinated, we encourage those who have not to head downtown to receive their vaccines, and to then walk across the street to join us for a great day of Tigers baseball at Comerica Park.”
Vaccines are free, and insurance is not required.
People 12 and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Individuals 18 and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Those receiving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine can schedule their second dose at a Meijer location near them. Children under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian.
“McLaren Health Care is delighted to further our partnership with the Detroit Tigers by providing easy, convenient access to the COVID-19 vaccine for all members of the communities we serve,” Barton Buxton, PhD, President and CEO of McLaren Health Management Group and chair of McLaren Health Care’s COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, said. “We strongly encourage those who have yet to be vaccinated to take advantage of this exciting opportunity.”
“This is just the latest example of how Meijer Pharmacists and team members in stores are collaborating with local partners to increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine and find new ways to help keep our communities safe,” Jason Beauch, Meijer Pharmacy Vice President, said. “This event will bring us yet another step closer to ending this pandemic while providing an opportunity to experience the excitement of seeing a ball game at Comerica Park.”
