The Detroit Tigers selected 10 players on the final day of the 2022 MLB Draft, which included rounds 11 through 20.

Detroit’s draft class consists of 12 pitchers (eight RHPs and four LHPs) and seven position players (two SS, one 1B, one 2B, one 3B and two OF).

On day one of the draft, the Tigers selected 2B Jace Jung from Texas Tech at No. 12 overall and SS Peyton Graham from the University of Oklahoma at No. 51 overall. On day two the club picked seven players: three pitchers and four position players.

According to MLB Pipeline’s pre-draft top 200 prospect ranking, the Tigers had five selections ranked above the slot they were taken in: Jace Jung ranked No. 8 (selected at No. 12), Peyton Graham ranked No. 28 (selected at No. 51), Troy Melton ranked No. 39 (selected at No. 117), Luke Gold ranked No. 87 (selected at No. 147) and Andrew Jenkins ranked No. 174 (selected at No. 267).

All players selected by Detroit this season come to the organization from the college ranks, marking the first time since 2013 that no high school players were taken by the Tigers in the first 20 rounds of the draft.
