Popular Chicago-based restaurant and bar JoJo’s ShakeBAR opened in The District Detroit on September 24, bringing classic diner fare, creative cocktails, over-the-top Biggie Shakes with piles of sweet treats, and more, to pedestrian-friendly Columbia Street. Whether guests have dinner on the charming patio, grab drinks before an event, enjoy brunch, or order from the walk-up window on the way to a game, JoJo’s has something for everyone.

“We’re happy to welcome the fun and unique JoJo’s ShakeBAR to Columbia Street,” said Keith Bradford, President of Olympia Development and The District Detroit. “It’s another incredible dining option for fans and guests to enjoy on a night out in the city, or before or after an event, right in the heart of The District Detroit.”

JoJo’s modern-yet-familiar diner experience is grounded in nostalgia, leaving kids in awe and transporting adults back to simpler times, with 80’s and 90’s-inspired décor, arcade games, a walk-up window, old-fashioned milk bottles and more. The restaurant also pays homage to the local area by featuring Detroit sports legends, Motown greats and of course, Faygo pop.

“We are thrilled to make Detroit the first JoJo’s location outside of Illinois, and the walkable Columbia Street area – just steps from amazing theaters and venues where all four professional sports teams play – is the ideal location for us,” said Robbie Schloss, Castle Hospitality Group partner.

In addition to decadent shakes and desserts, JoJo’s menu includes burgers, loaded mac ‘n’ cheese, Chicago-style hot dogs, giant salads, and a variety of vegan and gluten-free offerings.

JoJo’s ShakeBAR, located at 88 W. Columbia Street, opens Saturday, Sept. 24. For up-to-date menus and operating hours, visit www.JoJosShakeBar.com or follow JoJo’s on Instagram and Facebook.
