- Youth Soccer Players from Detroit Parks & Recreation’s Soccer In The D Program To Attend Match at Comerica Park
313 Presents has provided 700 complimentary tickets to children from Detroit Parks & Recreation’s Soccer In The D program to attend the world-class pre-season match between English Premier League Club, Crystal Palace F.C., and LALIGA’s Sevilla F.C. at Comerica Park on July 30 at 7 p.m. An announcement will be made during the event to acknowledge the group in attendance.
Detroit Parks & Recreation Athletics Division (DPRD) is the largest provider of youth soccer programming in the city of Detroit. Soccer In The D leagues are an opportunity for youth ages 3-14 to learn how to play soccer. The program helps children build character, learn teamwork and encourages positive physical and mental health.
“313 Presents is thrilled to provide the opportunity for Detroit youth soccer players to see two elite international football clubs compete live,” said Howard Handler, 313 Presents president. “Detroit Parks & Recreation’s Soccer In The D leagues provide a wonderful introduction to the game of soccer, and I hope attending this world-class event will make a positive impact and inspire the young players to keep working hard and have fun!”
Soccer leagues are offered in the Spring and the Fall with games being played at different parks around the city. In addition, DPRD hosts camps and clinics throughout the year to further connect communities with parks, programs and facilities to positively impact their health and wellness.
“We’re thankful and appreciative of this opportunity from 313 Presents. I know our Soccer In The D Families will enjoy the experience of being able to attend this world class pre-season match and witness in person a game on the professional level that will have a huge impact and create long lasting memories,” said Shay Lewis, Director of Athletics of Detroit Parks and Recreation Division.
