Baseball has long been a cherished American pastime, and for many young athletes, it’s a dream to step onto a Major League Baseball field, donning the colors of their favorite team. 

Recognizing the importance of nurturing this passion in youth players, the Detroit Tigers launched the Team Tigers initiative, aiming to create unforgettable experiences and provide meaningful support to local baseball and softball teams, organizations and leagues.

At the heart of Team Tigers is a comprehensive rewards program designed to elevate the youth baseball and softball experience. Upon joining Team Tigers, each participating team receives an official welcome kit, setting the stage for an exciting journey. The kit includes a Team Tigers banner, a branded item, a personalized welcome letter, 15 tickets to a designated Tigers game and exclusive opportunities for players and coaches. These elements not only foster a sense of belonging but also serve as tangible reminders of the team’s connection to the Tigers organization.

“Beyond a rewards program, Team Tigers is a platform that fosters a love for the game, builds camaraderie and supports our youth in Detroit,” said Matthew Williams, community impact manager for the Tigers. “We wanted to go beyond just tickets and merchandise. Team Tigers is about creating lasting memories, offering exclusive experiences and giving back to the community.”

One of the standout features of Team Tigers is the chance to enjoy on-field pregame parades at Comerica Park, an opportunity reserved for participating teams, organizations and leagues. Scheduled throughout the season, these parades coincide with Chevy Sunday Kids Day, enhancing the excitement and making the experience even more memorable. 

“The parades are a highlight for everyone involved,” Williams said. “Seeing the kids’ faces light up as they step onto the field is priceless.”

In addition to the parades, Team Tigers members have the chance to engage with Tigers players. Through a group ticket program, teams are invited to an exclusive pregame Q&A session with a current Tigers player, offering insights into the game and inspiring young players to reach their goals on and off the field. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from group ticket sales is donated back to the respective organization to support their activities and initiatives.
