Tiffany Harrington has been promoted to Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Activation for Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, while Donovan Powell has been promoted to Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Sales.

Harrington previously served as IS+E’s Director of Corporate Partnerships Activation since 2021, and Powell joined the organization as the Director of Corporate Partnerships Sales in 2020.

In her new role, Harrington will manage the daily corporate partner activation process for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings, including strategic planning, financial management, promotions and events, results tracking and more. She and her team will ensure relationships with partners are effectively built and maintained and identify new opportunities for business growth.

Powell’s new and expanded role will include the preparation and implementation of a strategic sponsorship sales plan for the Tigers, Red Wings and 313 Presents, and throughout The District Detroit. He and his team will curate new strategic client relationships and establish IS+E’s inventory of available sponsorship assets.

“Tiffany and Donovan have been key contributors to our corporate partnerships function and are well-deserving of these promotions to our senior leadership team,” said Mike Singer, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. “They will continue to elevate the relationships with our fans and loyal partners and highlight those partnerships at our venues and throughout the community.”

Harrington started with the Tigers in 2020 as the Manager of Corporate Partnerships Activation before being promoted to Director of Corporate Partnerships Activation in 2021. Among her many accomplishments is integrating Meijer as the Tigers’ first-ever Jersey Patch partner. She was named to Sports Business Journal’s “New Voices Under 30” class in 2022, recognizing diverse and impactful leaders, entrepreneurs, risk-takers and disrupters — all under the age of 30 — who are re-imagining the sports experience, and the way business is done.

“I am excited for and humbled to receive this opportunity within our growing organization,” Harrington said. “We have an incredibly hard-working and talented team in place that I am looking forward to leading every day, and I look forward to enhancing and innovating the corporate partnership experience at both Comerica Park and Little Caesars Arena.”

Since 2020, Powell has focused on building and strengthening long-term relationships among local, regional, and national brands. He has also coached, managed and mentored IS+E’s corporate partnerships sales managers. Powell closed the first sports betting partnership for an MLB team when the Tigers and PointsBet signed a multi-year deal in 2020. Before joining IS+E, he managed the revenue department at Detroit City FC.

“This is a tremendous leadership opportunity that I’m grateful to receive and be entrusted with,” Powell said. “It’s an exciting time to be aligned with the Tigers and Red Wings, and to be a part of the entertainment experience throughout metro Detroit. I look forward to providing an outstanding experience for our loyal partners for years to come.”

Harrington, who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Media & Journalism from the University of North Carolina, resides in metro Detroit with her fiancé, Hunter, and their two dogs, Lincoln and LamBo. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University.

Powell received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Bowling Green State University and completed his Master of Science in Sport Management from Drexel University. He resides in metro Detroit with his wife, Kim, and children, Wesley and Nora.
