The Detroit Tigers will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1984 World Series championship team at Comerica Park on Saturday, Aug. 31, and fans purchasing a special ticket package will have the chance to walk away with exclusive merchandise in partnership with Detroit Vs Everybody.

The special ticket package, which is presented by Miller Lite, will feature the infamous “BLESS YOU BOYS” moniker from the 1984 season on the front and back of a short sleeve T-shirt. The Detroit Vs Everybody logo will be prominently displayed on the right sleeve, while the iconic Olde English ‘D’ will be featured on the left sleeve. Fans can visit Tigers.com/1984 for additional details and to purchase the special ticket package.

Detroit Vs Everybody was founded by Tommey Walker to represent the pride and unapologetic spirit of Detroit. Walker remains committed to creating a brand that strengthens the city’s image through the restored pride of Detroiters and is the creative powerhouse behind every product Detroit Vs Everybody sells.

Detroit Vs Everybody opened a retail location at 44 W. Columbia Street in The District Detroit in December 2023. The location offers a full line of the company’s trademark apparel and accessories. Pedestrian-only Columbia Street is located across from Comerica Park, featuring restaurants and other retail outlets.

“We are excited to collaborate with our friends at Detroit Vs Everybody for this ticket special and exclusive ‘Bless You Boys’ T-shirt in honor of the 1984 World Series champions,” said Asia Gholston, Vice President of Marketing for the Detroit Tigers. “It will be another celebratory weekend at Comerica Park, and we’re looking forward to our fans saluting the returning players for everything they meant to our city during that historic season.”

“The excitement, support and faith of the 1984 Tigers season was electrifying. It speaks to the fond memories our customers share of their time on Trumbull. I’m anxious to see that same energy here at Comerica Park for the next generation of fans,” Walker said.

The 1984 Tigers raced out to a 35-5 record and eventually recorded a franchise-record 104 wins before defeating the San Diego Padres in the World Series. That team was led by World Series MVP Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Lance Parrish, Chet Lemon, Jack Morris, Willie Hernández and many more. Several players will be back in Detroit to join the celebration. The reunion is presented by Miller Lite & Bally Sports Detroit.

First pitch against the Boston Red Sox on Aug. 31 is scheduled for 6:10 p.m., with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. The first 15,000 fans to enter Comerica Park will receive a 1984 Replica Jersey, presented by Bally Sports Detroit.
