313 Presents Announces 2022 Summer Concert Season

313 Presents – Detroit’s premier live entertainment company – is set to deliver a jam-packed summer schedule of live entertainment to its world-class venues – Pine Knob Music Theatre presented by Proud Partners United Wholesale Mortgage, Trinity Health and Ally; Comerica Park, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, Little Caesars Arena and the Fox Theatre featuring Proud Partner Comerica Bank.

This summer’s amphitheatre and ballpark schedule returns to its traditional Memorial Day to Labor Day format for the first time since 2019 kicking off tomorrow, May 21 with Whiskey Myers bringing their “Tornillo Tour” with special guests Shane Smith & The Saints and Goodbye June to Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre. The acclaimed Southern California-bred sister act HAIM opens Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on the campus of Oakland University on May 25, and multi-platinum indie pop trio AJR will open the 50th anniversary season of the rebranded Pine Knob Music Theatre on Friday, May 27.

Return of Pine Knob Music Theatre presented by Proud Partners United Wholesale Mortgage, Trinity Health and Ally
In January, to the joy of thousands of concertgoers, 313 Presents announced the return of Pine Knob Music Theatre and welcomed Proud Partners United Wholesale Mortgage, Trinity Health and most recently in April, Ally Financial. This summer the iconic venue, which opened its doors on June 25, 1972 with a matinee performance by David Cassidy, will celebrate its 50th anniversary.


Newly Branded Entrances, Box Offices, Parking Areas and VIP Space

Three entrances at Pine Knob Music Theatre have been rebranded due to new, long-term relationships with Proud PartnersUnited Wholesale Mortgage, Trinity Health and Ally.

United Wholesale Mortgage – the No. 1 wholesale mortgage lender in the country for seven consecutive years and recognized as a best place to work in metro Detroit – is the exclusive mortgage partner of Pine Knob Music Theatre, and will have exclusive naming rights to Pine Knob Music Theatre’s UWM West Entrance/Exit, UWM West Parking Lot and UWM South Parking Lot, and UWM West Box Office.

Trinity Health is the official and exclusive health care partner of Pine Knob Music Theatre. The VIP area of Pine Knob Music Theatre will be branded as the Trinity Health VIP Entrance/Exit, Trinity Health VIP Parking Lot, Trinity Health VIP Box Office and Trinity Health Ivy Lounge.

Ally is the exclusive financial partner of Pine Knob Music Theatre. The digital financial services company will have exclusive naming rights to Pine Knob Music Theatre’s Ally East Entrance/Exit, Ally East Village, Ally North Parking Lot and Ally East Box Office.

Photo Retrospective Exhibit

Before entering the Trinity Health VIP Entrance, Ally East Entrance or UWM West Entrance, concertgoers can relive some of the venue’s first 50 years with a photo retrospective exhibit located just outside UWM’s West Entrance. With photo curation provided by Meg Handler, design by Vicky Lu and editorial by Gary Graff, guests will be able to enjoy a collection of photos from the venue’s 50-year history, including from Cassidy’s inaugural performance by Frank Pettis. Numerous other memories and alive moments – captured by photographers Chris Balow, Mike Ferdinande, Andy Freeberg, David Griffith, Mirak Habbiyyieh, Scott Legato, Ross Marino, Marc Nader, Darryl Pitt, Sue Plummer, Steve Galli, Ken Settle, Brian Sevald, Chris Schwegler, Tom Weschler and Steve Wiseman – will offer a glimpse into Pine Knob’s glorious history.

Fan Engagement
Located on the walkway near the Trinity Health VIP Entrance, a larger-than-life Pine Knob Music Theatre logo – created by Detroit’s Prop Art Studio – will allow guests the perfect opportunity to capture a photo to showcase their concert experience while creating memories for a lifetime.

Giveaways
All fans in attendance of the 50th anniversary season opening AJR concert on Friday, May 27 will receive a static sticker of the new venue logo, which was designed by Troy-based Simons-Michelson-Zieve Inc. (SMZ).

Concertgoers who attend 99.5 WYCD’s Hoedown featuring Brooks & Dunn on Saturday, June 25, 50 years to the day the venue opened, will receive a commemorative 50th Anniversary poster.

50th Anniversary Season at Pine Knob Music Theatre
Summer staples Styx and REO Speedwagon with special guest Loverboy will make their 17th, 28th and 16th appearances respectively at Pine Knob on June 8. Other artists who have frequented the stage and will appear once again at Pine Knob this summer include Dave Matthews Band (17th appearance on June 21), Barenaked Ladies (22nd on July 3), The Doobie Brothers (60th on July 4), Santana and Earth, Wind & Fire (29th and 18th respectively on July 5), Chicago (venue-most 82nd on July 26), Rod Stewart with Cheap Trick (10th and 18th respectively on July 27) and Korn (16th on August 21). Kid Rock and special guest Foreigner set a venue record for most performances in a season with 10 shows in August 2015 and will grace the stage this year on September 16 & 17, marking Kid Rock’s 37th and 38th and Foreigner’s 35th and 36th overall appearances at Pine Knob.

The best-selling duo of all time Brooks & Dunn will headline 99.5 WYCD’s 39th annual Hoedown, presented by Your Metro Detroit Ram Truck Dealers, on Saturday, June 25. The Hoedown will feature acts across two stages, including main stage performances from Scotty McCreery and Tenille Townes and festival stage performances by Joe Nichols and Parmalee.

Sammy Hagar will appear at Pine Knob for the 16th time during his illustrious career which includes a stint with Van Halen. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will be joined by his best-selling rock supergroup The Circle and special guests George Thorogood & The Destroyers as 94.7 WCSX celebrates its 35th Anniversary on August 23.

101.1 WRIF presents Riff Fest returns on Saturday, September 24 featuring main stage performances by Disturbed, In This Moment, Dirty Honey, Dorothy and The Violent, and festival stage performances by Plush, Fame On Fire and Detroit’s own Eva Under Fire.

COMERICA PARK
Ballpark concerts are larger than life experiences – starting from their placement within the busy MLB schedule to the rigorous setup and remarkable attention to detail needed from teams of experienced production professionals to create a unique, one-of-a-kind concert venue against the backdrop of the Detroit city skyline.

This summer, 313 Presents will host a record-setting five stadium performances, including a ‘three-night homestand’ from July 8-10. Country big-leaguer Chris Stapleton will kick festivities off along with special guests Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, country legend Marty Stuart and rising newcomer Madeline Edwards on Friday, July 8. The following night on Saturday, July 9, the legendary piano man and fan-favorite Billy Joel will perform his first solo stadium show in Michigan, and to close out the weekend, the world’s most iconic and celebrated rock legends Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe will take center field together on Sunday, July 10 for their massive coheadlining tour with Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

On Monday, July 18, Elton John will take his final Detroit bow at Comerica Park during his world-famous and award-winning “Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour.” The Red Hot Chili Peppers make their Comerica Park debut during the band’s first-ever stadium tour in the U.S. on Sunday, Aug. 14 and will perform their career-spanning hits as well as new music from their recent album (released April 1).

MEADOW BROOK AMPHITHEATRE
Located on the campus of Oakland University, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre is one of the most intimate, rustic venues in the region. This year’s line-up will feature some of the most prestigious names in the entertainment industry as well as music’s biggest emerging stars. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra returns this summer with The Magical Music of Harry Potter on July 10.

The Trinity Health Ivy Lounge at Pine Knob Music Theatre is available exclusively to Pine Knob Season Ticket Members before, during and after each show. The lounge can accommodate 520 people, seated and standing, and has private restrooms. Renovations were introduced last season, featuring new direct entrance accessible from the Trinity Health VIP parking area, an updated New Amsterdam Bar, a new second High Noon Bar, additional high-top seating areas, and the addition of the Jim Beam Highball Patio, a new lounge style seating area located near the entrance to the venue grounds and the pavilion.

The site of select post-show after-parties and entertainment, the Trinity Health Ivy Lounge features specialty cocktails and a select wine list. Levy continues to enhance the food and guest experience at Pine Knob Music Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre and Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre. New offerings include the Pine Knob Pilsner in celebration of the venue’s 50th anniversary, and made-to-order Smoothies in a new Color Changing Cup. Smoothies will be available at both Pine Knob Music Theatre and at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre.

Meijer Grab N Go: Located at the top of the stairs in the venue’s Ally East Village, the Grab-N-Go market is a new addition which offers a spot to grab quick snacks and canned beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

Detroit Grille House, Planet Sub and Schott’s Market return this summer, offering specialties customers have been known to enjoy at locations throughout metro Detroit. Below is where you can find each at the respective amphitheatres.

Detroit Grille House: A warm inviting Grille Pub with an emphasis on Gourmet Pub Fare, Detroit Grille House will be featured at Pine Knob Music Theatre and Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre, and will feature Chicken Strips, Hand Cut Fries and Loaded Fries. New to Detroit Grille House in 2022: Burger options were introduced at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre last summer, and guests will now be able to enjoy the Pine Knob Burger at the venue it was named for this summer.

Planet Sub: Located in the main concession area at Pine Knob, Planet Sub will feature Italian, Turkey, Veggie and Buffalo Chicken Subs made to order with a toasted option. All bread is made in store from scratch each day, with a gluten free option available. Salad options will also be available. New to Planet Sub in 2022: Super Hero Tortilla Wrap, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt and Fresh Chocolate Chip Cookies. Meadow Brook Amphitheatre will feature a limited menu this summer.

Schott’s Market Food Truck: New this summer, Schott’s Market Food Truck will be featured inside Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre’s main entrance and will serve menus unique to each show, including featured items such as Pulled Pork and Chicken BBQ Sliders, Tacos and Loaded Nachos, Hibachi and Shish Kabob. Schott’s Market Food Truck will also be on site at select shows at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre.

Trinity Health Ivy Lounge: The Trinity Health Ivy Lounge is available exclusively to Pine Knob Music Theatre Season Members before, during and after each show. New to Trinity Health Ivy Lounge in 2022: Michigan Summer Salad, Loaded Tater Tots, Pine Knob Reuben Sliders and Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich.

VENUE HOT SPOTS FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Guests will continue to enjoy these popular spots located throughout the grounds at Pine Knob Music Theatre to relax and relish in a wide array of dining options:

  • The Tree House by Lume, an expansive deck located inside Pine Knob’s UWM West Entrance, is an open-air beer garden providing ample space for all concertgoers to socialize and enjoy food and beverage offerings before and during the show. Rave Associates, a beer and wine distributor, will provide more than 20 world-class craft, retro and traditional beers. Founders Brewing Company continues to be featured at The Union Mac Shack, which is back by popular demand, serving Union Joints’ legendary mac and cheese, pulled pork sliders and more. Cannabis consumption and purchase is not permitted on-the premises; however, the Tree House’s retail space allows guests to purchase Lume-branded merchandise and learn about Lume’s offerings across its 31 off-site recreational dispensaries.
  • The Coppercraft Club is open to all Pine Knob patrons and is the destination for pre-show, as well as post-show drinks and food. Concertgoers can get their tickets scanned at The Coppercraft Club gate, enjoy picnic table seating and BBQ Street Fair offerings, including house smoked Brisket and Pork. Guests will be able to view the smoker in action nightly and enjoy the aroma of smoked meat using fresh cherry wood. An assortment of beer choices and specialty cocktails are also available. Smokehouse Banana Pudding Cup, a perfect dessert to take on the go, is made with homemade vanilla pudding layered with fresh banana slices, sweetened whipped cream and Nilla Wafers. The Coppercraft Club remains open until one hour after show conclusion.
  • Honcho Outpost located at the top of the stairs in the venue’s Ally East Village, returns for its fifth season at Pine Knob Music Theatre serving up Union Joints style Latin street food. Menu items include Honcho Nacho, Honcho Taco, Honcho Burrito and Signature Margarita.

Concertgoers at Pine Knob Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Amphitheatre will continue to enjoy Cheese and Pepperoni Big Slice options from Little Caesars Pizza.

At Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre, concertgoers will enjoy Papa Romano’s Pizza, which will offer Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza at its main concessions area location. Mr. Pita will also be on-site, offering Italian, Turkey, Chicken Caesar Pitas at its main concession and VIP locations.

The MotorCity Casino Hotel VIP Club at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre is a pre-event destination for season ticket holders, sponsors and their guests, and is open to all patrons two hours after doors open to the venue. The space is also open post-show following select events and keeps the entertainment going with music, dancing and refreshments.

Dog Days of Summer Adoption Event
313 Presents also welcomes Pet Supplies Plus, who will be hosting a special Dog Day in the Park & Adoption Event at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on June 11 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Guests can bring their pets to roam the grounds, listen to live music, grab lunch from food trucks and some free pet giveaways from Purina, Whitebridge, Merrick, Science Diet, Hartz, and more.
