Hockey is more than just a sport. The teamwork and physical activity that are ingrained in the game can help provide kids with positive life skills and nurture a love of the sport. That’s why former professional hockey player Jason McCrimmon established Detroit Ice Dreams Hockey Association in 2014 with the goal of maximizing access to the sport for kids in the city of Detroit.

In recognition of this impactful nonprofit organization, the Detroit Red Wings Foundation, through the Learn, Play, Score initiative, has joined Detroit Ice Dreams to expand access to the game of hockey throughout the city.
