After winning the Nike RBI East Regional Tournament in Pittsburgh, Penn., both the Tigers Nike RBI Senior Baseball and Softball teams went on to compete at the NIKE RBI World Series at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida, hosted by Major League Baseball.

The Tigers NIKE RBI, Junior Baseball, Senior Baseball and Softball teams all competed at the regional tournament, with the Senior Baseball and Softball team advancing to the World Series.

Nike’s Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program is a baseball and softball organization that supports youth with limited access to the games of baseball and softball. The organization allows participants to play at little or no cost at all. This program was developed in south central Los Angeles by John Young in 1989 and has expanded to more than 200 cities.

In July, the Tigers Nike RBI Senior Baseball and Softball teams took home their corresponding 2024 Nike RBI East Regional Championships. The senior baseball team finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record and the softball team finished with a 4-1 record.

The senior baseball team competed in the World Series August 4-10, finishing 3-2. The championship was won for the second year in a row by the Chicago White Sox Nike RBI team.

The softball team competed August 12-17 at the World Series, going 1-5, losing their playoff games in double elimination. The championship was won by the Houston Astros RBI team.
