Roar of ’84: Tigers to Celebrate 1984 World Series Champions This Saturday, August 31, Prior to Game Vs Red Sox at 6:10 P.M.
World Series MVP Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Kirk Gibson, Lance Parrish, Chet Lemon, and Jack Morris to return to Detroit – over 20 players from the ’84 club to take part in the fan-friendly festivities
First 15,000 fans in attendance will receive 1984 replica jersey presented by Bally Sports Detroit
Select 1984 legends will sign autographs from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:00-2:30 p.m. at The D Shop presented by Meijer, with autograph tickets available at the event and in advance at Tigers.com/Authentics
Gates open at 4:00 p.m., fans encouraged to be in seats by 5:30 p.m. for nostalgic pregame ceremony

The Detroit Tigers will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1984 World Series Championship team on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Comerica Park presented by Bally Sports Detroit and Miller Lite. First pitch against the Boston Red Sox is set for 6:10 p.m.
The 1984 Tigers raced out to a 35-5 record and recorded a franchise-record 104 wins before defeating the San Diego Padres in the World Series. Over 20 players who led the ’84 championship team are expected to return to Detroit including World Series MVP Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Kirk Gibson, Lance Parrish, Chet Lemon, Jack Morris, Dan Petry, Tom Brookens, Barbaro Garbey, Dave Rozema, Darrell Evans, Larry Herndon, Milt Wilcox, Howard Johnson, Juan Berenguer, John Grubb, Rusty Kuntz, Sid Monge, Doug Bair, Doug Baker, Randy O’Neal, and Bill Scherrer.

A special ticket package, presented by Miller Lite and in partnership with Detroit Vs Everybody, includes a T-shirt featuring the “BLESS YOU BOYS” rally cry moniker from the 1984 season. The Detroit Vs Everybody logo will be prominently displayed on the right sleeve, while the iconic Olde English ‘D’ will be featured on the left sleeve. Autograph Signings in The D Shop: 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Select members of the 1984 World Series Championship team will sign autographs on Aug. 31 for fans that purchase advanced tickets for the event or on-site at The D Shop presented by Meijer at Comerica Park. Two separate sessions will be held, from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Tigers fans can secure tickets for the autograph session today at Tigers.com/Authentics.

Unique Pregame On-Field Ceremony Celebrating 40th Anniversary of 1984 World Series Championship
A nostalgic on-field pregame ceremony will begin at approximately 5:40 p.m. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 5:30 p.m. to salute the 1984 World Series champions in a unique ceremony at Comerica Park.
Book Signing for “The Enchanted Season” on Friday, Aug. 30
Ticketed fans for the Friday, Aug. 30 series opener against Boston (6:40 p.m. first pitch) will have the opportunity to purchase their copy of “The Enchanted Season” signed by co-authors Tom Gage and Lance Parrish. Gage and Parrish will be available on the Comerica Park concourse near Gate A from 5:00 p.m. when gates open through the second inning, or until supplies last. The Enchanted Season documents the historic 1984 Tigers season and takes readers inside the clubhouse.
